We’ll forgive you if you have trouble concentrating on the road ahead of you while running The Humboldt Redwoods. After all, you’ll probably be looking up at the old growth redwood trees which tower over the course.
Course is on a paved road the winds gently up hill but is mostly a flat, fast destination race. With little to distract you, the tall trees inspire the athlete in each of us to be strong. The course is certified and the marathon is a Boston Qualifying event.
This course is USATF Certified and a Boston Qualifier.
The course is a double out and back entirely on paved roads. The roads are lined with stunning 300 feet tall old growth Redwood trees. While these provide shade and keep temperatures cool all morning, please note that they sometimes block out GPS signal on running watches.
Overall prize is awarded to top finishing male and female in each event. Age groups are every 10 years with 19 and under in half. Each finisher will receive a medal upon completion. Award presentations for 1st – 3rd will begin at 11am. Only 1st place trophies are presented in the 5K. Age group awards will be handed out at the timers tent close to the finish line.
